Last weekend I had a great time chatting with Rebecca Ponton, a freelance writer based in Texas, currently working on her new book 'Breaking the Gas Ceiling'. It is such an honour to be asked to feature within this book, acknowledging the relatively small but growing number of women within the oil and gas industry. It is clear from our conversation that this book is set to be extremely interesting and Rebecca has defiantly spoken to and including some extraordinary women within it. Rebecca has asked me to share my journey and stories about the past two years offshore so the pressure is on to represent the "new generation" of female offshore workers.
During our conversation Rebecca and I touched on topics including offshore, the offshore working environment, education and training, female discrimination, age discrimination, the current downturn and money management. It was fun to chat through and reminisce some of the most amazing memories I have all thanks to my time within the industry. It is always great to hear positive feedback about the blog and I am thrilled that The Offshore Blondie is reaching and being well received in the US.
I will keep you all posted with the progress of this book and my time working with Rebecca. The book is set to be published early 2016 so something to look forward to for sure.
