What are your travel essentials? I am currently packing my hand luggage ready for my flight on Saturday. I would like to think that I am a now a pro when it comes to packing, there are a few essentials that I just can not travel without. The most precious of these items being a few photographs of my wonderful family, I like to think these keep me safe on my latest adventure.
Lights, camera, action!
Cameras are an essential for any trip whether it be work or pleasure. I love to document my journey, not only for the blog, but also for my own personal memory bank. I love to sit and look through all photos and reminisce about amazing experiences I am so very fortunate enough to have experienced.
I was once told that your best camera is not necessarily the most expensive or the most technical it is the one that captures the most memories - with that in mind it has to be my Sony NEX5R. The main reason I purchased this SLR camera was the size, it is so compact, which is essential when travelling. It has built in Wi-Fi so you can easily send photos from this to your phone and the rear flip screen is great when trying to take a selfie.
The newest edition to my camera family is the GoPro Hero 5. I have decided to venture into the 'Vlogging' world during my upcoming trip and I have heard such great reviews about this minute camera. I am looking forward to putting this camera through its paces and capturing some awesome footage, which I will be sharing with you all very soon! John Lewis are currently offering 2 years warranty when you purchase this little guy - Go Pro Hero 5
I have also purchased a few accessories:
A Polaroid camera is a must for all! It is great to hold an instant physical photo, great little momento. These cameras arn't the best at capturing landscape photos but they are great for up close and personal photos. The film is relatively expensive so make sure you have your shot sussed out and ready to shoot before pressing the clicker! - Instax Mini 8 Camera with 10 Shots - White
Yes I have been sucked into the Apple curse but I can’t travel without a few of my devices. The Apple Macbook Air is perfect for travelling, lightweight and compact. The iPad Mini is versatile and great for not only watching your favourite series but for reading also. I love how all my apple devices are linked; my photos are safe and sound if anything was to happen to iPhone. John Lewis also offers two-year warranty on all Apple products, which beats that offered by the Apple store!
The important bits
These requirements vary depending on where in the world you are jetting off too. As I am off to the west coast of Africa I have recently updated my vaccinations and purchased malaria tablets. It is important to take all your vaccination records and yellow fever certification with you as they can sometime deny you entry if you can’t evidence you are all up to date.
Make sure your passport is in date; some countries will not supply you with a visa for entry if you have less than 6 months remaining until your expiry date.
I better get back to my packing but I am so excited to share my Senegal trip with you all!
